More Necessary Things: Art Exhibit by Ida Picker

Chatham resident Ida Picker will hold a show of her acrylic oil paintings in the Lundt Room through November. Her subjects include everyday objects, portraits and scenes which straddle the line between abstract and representational. Her recent work plays with geometrical shapes of daily life, experimenting with light and shadow to create a new way of seeing the ordinary.
The artist has a B.A. cum laude from Harvard College, and she studied art at the Art Students League in New York, Studio Montclair at the Montclair Art Museum, and the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.

The public is invited to the opening reception. The show may be viewed during regular library hours through the month.
